Rakuten Bank provides internet banking products and services in Japan. The company offers personal services, including payment, money support/easy bank transfer, prepaid cards, Yen/foreign currency deposits, remittance, loan services, lottery, account linking, foreign exchange, and asset management services. It also provides corporate services, such as business debit cards, ATM deposit, business loans, international remittance, payment, transfer, account verification, withdrawal, settlement, and deposits services.
Originally known as eBank, it became part of the Rakuten brand in the 2010. Some say that the 2023 IPO was to help raise money to help with Rakuten Mobile's constant losses.

The benefits aren't the most exciting things and the cashback amounts are tiny compared to what you'll have to spend to use the services, but if you do use Rakuten Bank then it's better than nothing! At least you can get .25-.5% on fixed deposits if nothing else, although I'm hoping that the people who read this site would rather invest their cash instead!
